Sense and Sensibility
Sense and Sensibility: narrates the tale of the Dashwood sisters, Marianne (Kate Winslet) and pragmatic Elinor (Thompson). When their father passes away unexpectedly, his estate must legally transfer to his son from his first marriage, leaving Mr. Dashwood’s current wife and children without a place to live and with very little money. Both sisters must learn to balance reason and sensibility in their interactions with money and men as they strive to find romantic fulfillment in a society fixated on social and financial status—Elinor with shy, charming Edward (Hugh Grant) and Marianne with either the charming Willoughby (Greg Wise) or the haunted Colonel Brandon (Alan Rickman).

Sense and Sensibility
The much-anticipated new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility — often informally called “Sense and Sensibility 2025/2026” — reintroduces Jane Austen’s timeless tale for a modern audience.
Announced in 2025, this version is directed by Georgia Oakley and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood.
Given that, there’s currently no confirmed release on Netflix, which means “Sense and Sensibility 2025” on streaming platforms remains speculative.
